Best/most fun spec for mage?

so I'm starting a mage and am undecided on what spec I'm going to use. any suggestions???

try all three and see what one you find the most fun.

For leveling?

this is a difficult question
I leveled almost exclusively as fire and i loved it, i tried Frost and Arcane for ahwile but i didn't enjoy them as much

Frost is without a doubt the "best" leveling spec before level 20, probably before level 33. Frost gives you unparalleled survivability with Ice Barrier and millions of roots and snares. Plus Shatter give you big damage when you need it. Frost, in my opinon, is a very bland spec to level with. But getting used to frost's play style is valuable if you plan to Pvp with your mage, as it will most likely be the spec you use.

at 33, you can glyph for Evocation to get a heal and have reduced CD which effectively reduces your downtime to zero. You can heal with it and get your mana back up on a relatively short CD. Plus, at level 20 you get Arcane Blast. Arcane will without a doubt do more damage and kill quicker than frost, plus you get lots of fun tools to work with, such as Presence of Mind and Improved Blink. Arcane will die a bit faster than frost though.

Fire is the hardest spec to level with, but it also the most fun in my opinion. if you want fast efficient and easy leveling, don't come to fire. Fire has very little ability to survive compared to the other two, and lower damage than arcane and similar to frost. But it's very fun to use and mess around with, why i used it to level. Fun tools such as Dragon's Breath and Blazing speed make this spec fast paced and interesting

My 2cents, I'd ultimately reccomend arcane, especially if you plan to do any dungeon,.
