need some fire mage advice.

Ok well i tested my fire mage out on a raid boss im doing 18k but when i switch to arcane im doing 25k dps on raid dummy. can i get some advice on how to improve my fire dps?


First of all, you're not gemmed/reforged for fire. You're stacking mastery which is good for arcane, but the worst stat for fire. Also, don't know why you have a int/stam gem but get rid of that and your int/mastery gems should be pure int or int/haste depending on the socket bonus. MWC is pretty bad for fire so replace that with anything really. And wow I just noticed you have a spirit neck, belt, and offhand. I hope you didn't need that over a healer or a hybrid that uses spirit...

As for rotation, it's a priority checklist. Start off fight with a hardcast pyro or scorch, apply LB, use FO, spam FB until you get a HS pyro proc, reapply LB when it expires and not a second too early, use FO whenever it's off CD, only combust with 15k-20k+ ignites.

i see, thanks. for the tips. ill try reforging everything but yea the neck happens to be an upgrade before it got restricted to healers this week. Im suprised i could still use it.
Even though it was an upgrade, it was kinda a bad move. :/
Are you fully raid buffed? because I cannot see you going 25k on a target dummy on any time over a minute self buffed in arcane

Fire damage evens out over time while arcane damage you need to be on the target dummy for about 5 minutes to get your real dps
well i was doing the raid bunny and i used the addon spellmaster fire mage rotation.
i was doing 18k on raid dummy non raid buffed. just by using the gears i have now on me in my armoury.
Since the release of the new patch, I'm always between 20k-23k as Fire spec. I always been fire so I'm kinda used to it. I'm not raiding so often, but since the new patch, I looove raiding. As gear stats, I've cap hit % (17.20%) and my crit chance unbuff is around 21% (buffed, I'm at 25-28%).

I always start combat with Pyro-LB-FB(couple of times)-Scorch (if no proc for Pyro), that way you keep a +5% crit chance on the boss. I looove doing Blasting wave (follow by flame strike instant and free) for Aoe, then repeat. It's quite good, but I'm pretty sure I could raise my dps over 25-28k dps with proper gems and gears.
