Umm it is already perfectly viable right now and is getting buffed so... yes?

I am worried about the prospects of us being ruined in the next expansion as blizzard probably doesn't care about fire and will inadvertently destroy us.
Well its somewhat viable in arena presently. In many 3v3 teams a fire mage is a liability in my opinion.
Fire RMP would be interesting. Fire MLS would also be great for that dispel protection and crazy sustained damage.
Possibly a heavy burst comp? Fire Mage, Shadow priest, Disc priest or something.
I read somewhere that If you are the burst you want a constant damage comp and vice-versa.
To motgutra, an ele shammy or a paly healer would be better to benefit from different buffs

I think your disc priest would get turbo-cleaved to death.

ele / fire have good peels but i'd maybe prefer Hpally/fire/ele type thing.
