Mage Rogue 2's

[:1]Can anybody here just give me some general advice on running this 2s comp?

My brother an I are starting to run this. We used my other 2s team with a Disc priest that was 1788 (we quit because healer/DPS is not fun) and we started mage rogue. Generally, for him being new to the rogue class and our first time to ever run this comp, I'm fairly pleased with our performance so far.

Pretty much we live and die off our opener at the moment (that's not to say we can't recover somewhat though). Double stealth teams hurt us bad. Any paladin team is painful as well (damn the bubble). I'm generally the one getting focused so i don't have much time for CC.

going 9-5 and having a net loss of 15 rating is painful though.

EDIT: Just did arenas and went 7-1. Feeling pretty confident now.
simple set up and yes its all in ur opener. Come out of invis with a sheep + ROF on the heals, make sure your rogue doesnt waste his 5 CPs by using kidney shot and Open with ambush or Garrote (garrote preferably)as both Cheapshot and KS shares a DR with your deep freeze and DF is the more beneficial spell to use for both of u as it still stuns for the rogue but freezes for your dmg. always have smokebomb up in this opener but dont blow smokebomb till healer blows trinket or is un-cc'd. mage rogue can burn a partner down while keeping the healer or other partner completely cc'd with Poly + rof + blind + blanket silence+ sheep.

really the opener is impossible to counter unless the other team is quicker than u, if the kill target can get out of ur rogues opening stun and out of smokebomb, then you lose your edge and then u have to play well to win. the trick is to make ur kill target use there trinket. in previous matches ive done this by sapping the kill target, pretend to open on the other partner then when they trinket, vanish and swap to kill target, this needs to be done before the mage comes out of invis.

make sure to tell your rogue partner to dispell AI off himself by right clicking (just incase you arent already)

*EDIT* couple of tips too, if u can keep track of your DRS dont be afraid to cold snap + deepfreeze a healer to win the match. You'll win more if u play like ull auto lose if the match lasts more than 30 seconds, dont finish a match with cooldowns available is my motto, now just gotta find a rogue that knows how to open with garrote....
