New Mage/Player wanting to raid.

[:1]Hey guys, I'm a fairly new player. This is my third toon, and actually my current main. I joined when Cataclysm dropped. Played a Paladin, didn't like it. Played a Death Knight, kinda liked it. Played a Mage, loved it.

I'm still learning A LOT of things about the game as you can probably see by my armory. But anyway, the point of this thread is that I'm a new player wanting to raid. I'd be fine with just doing Normal modes, but I really want to prove myself worthy as a raider.

All I ask in favor from the more experienced mages is to take a glance a look at my armory. Look at my gemming, enchants, reforging... anything really. And please tell me what I could work on and how I could improve my mage. Honestly, any help is appreciated.

TL;DR - I want to raid, but I'm a new player. Am I ready to do DS Normal?
I would change my meta to an Ember Shadowspirit Diamond.

With the 2p tier13, you can afford losing a bit more haste, at the benefit of more mastery.

Bottled Wishes isn't an ideal trinket. On-use trinkets are always very welcome for Arcane Mages, but the static haste is weak. Aim for a +int trinket. Either the Chalice from Fireland Dailies or DMC:Volcano.

If you really want to maximize your stats, run your mage through Rawr. I'm positive it's going to tell you to reforge into more Mastery.
